The dean of the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences of Melilla, Lucía Herrera, has been elected President of the National Conference of Deans of Education, a position she will hold for a period of two years.
With this new position, Lucía Herrera expands her career at the head of recognized institutions in the educational field. In March 2023, she was elected president of the Conference of Deans of Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla. Three months later, in June 2023, she became part of the Executive Commission of the National Conference, of which she was elected president today.
The Conference of Deans and Deans of Education (CoDE) is a non-profit, state-wide association, made up of the deans of the Faculties and directors of the Higher Education Centers belonging to public and private universities and affiliated, non-profit centers. , with degrees in Educational Sciences that request admission.
The CoDE's mission is to contribute to the improvement of the training of education professionals (teachers, secondary school teachers, pedagogues, social educators, educational psychologists, etc.) through cooperation and dialogue between universities, public powers and social agents.
Likewise, it also works to promote the comprehensive training of people that enables them to practice throughout life as critical, responsible citizens and qualified professionals and, where appropriate, the positive actions necessary to achieve this, while promoting research and proven innovation, to contribute to the sustained and sustainable progress of society through the transfer and socialization of knowledge.
