Following the internationalization strategy carried out by the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences of Melilla in recent years, the Faculty and the European project Ecalfor have been preparing since 2023 the Course-workshop “Social Responsibility and Higher Education”, intended for teachers of the Institute for the Quality of Education from the University of San Martín de Porres (Peru).
Within the framework of the academic and institutional relations carried out by the Faculty, the Institute for the Quality of Education of the University of San Martín de Porres (Peru) and the European project ECALFOR “Evaluation of teacher training in Latin America and Caribbean. Guarantee of the quality of education titles", this Course-Workshop is organized with the aim of promoting a space for training and international debate between Peruvian and Spanish teachers about the challenges that Social Responsibility (SR) currently represents linked to the world. of higher education.
This academic and cultural activity will be carried out at the Faculty from June 17 to 19, 2024, with classes in the mornings and tourist and recreational activities in the afternoons.
Through different expository conferences and group work, the core concepts of SR will be addressed - over three days - related to different areas of theoretical and practical in-depth study: the humanistic approach to university social responsibility; the transversal areas and levels of university social responsibility; university extension as an expression of social responsibility; university social responsibility and research development; social responsibility as a perspective of human talent; and university social responsibility and the Sustainable Development Goals.
This Course-Workshop will enable an update of the permanent training of ICE-USMP teachers, allowing their international contextualization in order to develop their functions of teaching, research, management, social action and transfer in an ethical and socially responsible manner, through carrying out significant actions in your educational institution to improve the well-being of society and harmonized with the Millennium Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals.
